Lost Carnival Application

PLAYER
Name: AB

CHARACTER
Character Name: Frisk
Age: Around 12 years old
Species: Human
Canon: Undertale
Canon Point: Family Neutral Ending (Papyrus and Undyne befriended, Asgore defeated)

Prior to this, Frisk has gone through a good chunk of the Neutral Runs, but has never done the True Pacifist or Genocide Route.

Character Info: Here
Personality: Frisk is a silent protagonist, being a child of an undetermined race, gender, or age. However there are many moments within the game that give them a fairly strong personality.

They are a very kind child, capable of befriending a whole Underground of Monsters. Pacifistic by nature, Frisk is often ready to help with a smile and, if needed, a hug. Their level of kindness is often commented on by other characters, to the point that it's generally accepted that the True Pacifist Route is where Frisk's true personality shines and they are separated from the player's actions. Their first reaction towards aggression is to ACT to try and find a way to reach an understanding long before they'd resort to violence. Frisk's inner thoughts when accessing a Save Point also gives insight to quite an imagination, from commenting on the shadows in the Ruins, something playful like the fallen leaves or something more ridiculous like a mouse hacking a safe to get some cheese. At the end of the day, time warping anomaly or not, Frisk is a young child at heart.

That's not to say there isn't also a level of sass to this child. They are given options to back-sass others if they want and a few of their comments and ACT options can come off as rude, like heckling Snowdrake. It's also worth noting that you can get a good Neutral Run while still being a complete dick to everyone, so it's possible Frisk has their limits on how nice they'll be and they get frustrated just like any other child would. On the flip side they are also capable of being very, very silly. From hamming it up during Mettaton's boss fight or engaging in very bad roleplaying with Alphys while on a DATE, if it's fun Frisk will likely do it.

And, you know. * FLIRT for days. This child has no shame.

Above all, Frisk is very Determined, which allows them to access their abilities to SAVE and LOAD, but is also a personality trait all on its own. Even if it'd be best to give up Frisk doesn't, even if it'd be determent to their health and has resulted in death more then once. Time after time they'll get back up again, circumstances be damned. It's why Frisk is joining the Lost Carnival in the first place: they want to help everyone and they'll keep going here to make sure that happens. In addition to this they are also pretty brave. While Frisk knows when it's time to run (looking at you Undyne) they will stand their ground when it's required. They might have been scared at the time but when Monster Kid fell off the bridge they risked getting caught by Undyne to save them. Frisk was certainly scared when they found themselves face-to-face with Photoshop Flowey but continued to fight despite that even though he was a God.

But Determination can be used for not so nice things too...

It'd be remiss to not talk about the Genocide Route and the darker Neutral Runs. Frisk is very much capable of hurting and killing others and gaining LV (Level of Violence) and has in the past prior to coming to the Carnival. While hurting someone is not Frisk's first instinct they are capable of fighting when needed. Even the True Pacifist run implies that something happened in Frisk's past that caused them to climb Mt. Ebott in the first place - possibly an "unhappy" reason, although it's kept vague. As for the Genocide Route, if Frisk continues to kill and gain LV their personality erodes and is replaced by Chara. There are a lot of theories and speculations about Chara and who they are, but to me they are the narrator negatively influenced by the player's actions. Once the end is reached, the world is destroyed.

But fortunately for everyone things haven't gotten that dark and hopefully it'll stay that way. Maybe.

Abilities: * FLIRT

Frisk holds the power of Determination within them, giving them the power to Save and Load at will. This functionally allows them to rewind time at will to their last Save, even setting everything back to the beginning with the addition ability to RESET.

Since RESET is pretty OP, I will be nerfing that ability entirely. They will be able to Save and Load with a few extra limits and circumstances: They will only be allowed to Save and Load once a day and attempting to use this ability again will knock them for a loop and straight up knock Frisk out if they keep trying. In addition to this, Frisk will only be able to Save and Load if they are feeling very Determined (for example, using this ability to Save and Load to stop a friend from getting hurt) and if they are incapacitated in some way, no dice. They will also not be able to Load a Save after dying, leaving them subject to the game's rules on death.

They are also very good at dodging (although not supernaturally so) and befriending all the things.

CARNIVAL
Soul Colour: Red
Ideal Jobs: Animal Keeper, Clown, Patch
Relevant Experience:

Animal Keeper: Not exactly something they have a lot of experience in, but Frisk is good with animals, especially dogs. Or dog-shaped Monsters. Either or. They have *PET and they're not afraid to use it.
Clown: Frisk is all for being silly when needed or just for fun with their ACT options. While they probably won't be an instant crowd favorite, they generally don't mind doing silly things to make people happy.
Patch: As stated above with ACTing, Frisk is pretty good at talking and finding solutions for a peaceful resolution to problems. And if worse comes to worse, they're pretty good at dodging until help comes.

Reason for Joining: "I want everyone to be happy."

Having gone through a good chunk of the Neutral Runs but never finding an ending where everyone comes out of it completely and utterly happy and safe, Frisk asks the Ringmaster if it's possible for her to give them a hand in finding the best ending for the Underground, even if it's just a clear hint. This is very important for Frisk so even if the Ringmaster wasn't only accepting willing participants right now, they'd still sign up.
